The Nebraska Stroke Association’s signature fundraising event honors the legacy of Shirley Rauscher while bringing together stroke survivors, caregivers, healthcare professionals, community partners, and supporters from across Nebraska.
Shirley Rauscher lived a life shaped by family, community, curiosity, and generosity. From growing up on a Nebraska farm to traveling the world, working at the Nebraska State Capitol, and creating a Christmas tree farm with her husband Ron, Shirley built a life full of connection and meaningful experiences.
She was remembered by those who knew her as kind, gracious, and deeply devoted to the people she loved.
Through her estate, Shirley extended that spirit of generosity far beyond her own lifetime. Her remarkable gift to the Nebraska Stroke Association helped strengthen stroke education, survivor and caregiver support, community connection, and resources for Nebraskans across the state.
The Shirley Rauscher Legacy Gala was created to carry that spirit forward — celebrating the difference one life can make and inviting others to help build the future of stroke support in Nebraska.
