How We Can Help
Through health fairs, public outreach and printed information, the Nebraska State Stroke Association works to educate Nebraskans on:
- Stroke risk factors and stroke prevention
- understanding the signs and symptoms of stroke
- the importance of acting fast when you think you or someone else has had a stroke
- how to cope with the stroking and resources you can use to maximize the quality of life for stroke survivors and family members

Speakers Bureau
Strokes can be prevented. The Nebraska State Stroke Association provides educational programs that show listeners how to reduce their own risk of stroke, learn to recognize the warning signs of stroke in others and what to do when they see them. Programs also provide useful information on how to maximize the quality of life for Stroke Survivors and their Families. Designed for any size group, the programs are free of charge.

Aphasia Support Group
this group is designed to reach those people with aphasia who no longer have insurance for speech therapy (or never had it) and cannot afford private therapy. It is currently available only in the Omaha area and as a result of a collaboration between the Nebraska State stroke Association and group of speech therapists in Omaha.
