Welcome

Stroke is the third leading cause of death in Nebraska, killing more than 1,000 Nebraska residents each year. There is no age limit on strokes – 20% of the people who die from strokes in Nebraska are under the age of 75.

The Nebraska State Stroke Association devotes 100% of its donations to serving Nebraskans by providing stroke prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation education and post-stroke support to stroke survivors and their families.

This program was created to reach out to stroke survivors who may not have access to the post-stroke care and rehabilitation that is often needed, free of charge. In the inaugural year of the program twelve scholarships will be awarded and will be based on the applicant’s need. Read more about the program in the Spring '09 newsletter, or apply for a scholarshippdf.
